History

The Blue Star Mothers of America was formed in 1942 by mothers of servicemen serving in all branches of our Armed Forces.  The early members played important roles during World War II, volunteering in hospitals and train stations and packing care packages for soldiers.  Although the organization waned in size after the war, it has been held together by mothers showing pride in both their children and their country.  In recent years, the membership has regained strength as once again mothers come together to support each other as well as our sons and daughters in the military.

Blue Star Moms of Marin is an official chapter, formed in March of 2009.  It is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-discriminatory, and non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status
